Dear Campus Community:

The Facilities Services team is excited to welcome students, faculty, and staff back to campus!

Our team is committed to providing a high level of service to our campus community and we would like you to be aware of our plans for the Fall 2021 semester. Below is a list of procedures that will remain in effect for the fall as we operate with a reduced workforce, adhere to social distancing, and continue to focus on our efforts within student residential areas.

Classrooms

There are no longer disinfectant wipes or sanitizing stations in all classrooms. Individuals may bring personal wipes with them to wipe down surfaces if they prefer. We continue to discourage sharing objects whenever possible. As an example, faculty members are encouraged to bring their own dry erase markers and other needed materials to and from the classroom with them.

Academic and Administrative Buildings

High “touch points” in all buildings are one of the highest priorities to be disinfected throughout the day by Facilities Services staff members and include the following:

  • Entranceways
  • Light switches
  • Door handles
  • Sinks
  • Drinking fountains
  • Handrails
  • Desks
  • Counters
  • Chairs
  • Elevator buttons

Public spaces and gathering spaces will be cleaned daily across campus.

Restrooms

Residence hall restrooms and public restrooms are cleaned and disinfected daily.

Offices

Offices may purchase disinfectant wipes from the Warehouse for use - although it is not required.

Offices with shared workspaces may want to continue to use sanitary wipes and disinfectant to thoroughly wipe down instruments, keyboards, or any other surfaces that were touched. Individual offices will be cleaned monthly so that custodial efforts can be focused on residence halls, common areas, and restrooms. Employees are asked to place their trash and recyclables in public receptacles or outside their office door for pickup.

To submit work orders for additional cleaning, repair, or pest control, visit https://apps.ithaca.edu/ and click on Maintenance Direct.

As always, we thank you for your cooperation in helping us ensure that Ithaca College remains a clean and healthy campus, and we will keep you updated on any future service adjustments.
