PPECS Fall 2021 Procedures & Updates

Below is an update on policies for  Park Portable Equipment Center & Services (PPECS) this Fall 2021.

RESERVATIONS

  • PPECS will continue to be reservation based for the Fall of 2021. Reservations will be made via the patron portal no more than two weeks in advance but at least 48 hours in advance. This is a reduction from 72 hours last semester. PPECS Pro reservations will continue to be required at least 72 hours in advance again via the patron portal. Only reservations submitted as part of a class-wide distribution will be accepted earlier than two weeks in advance.
  • In order to streamline processes and keep things running smoothly and safely, certain days/hours will be for checkouts only while others will be held for returns only.
  • Please pay attention as the days/times have changed for Fall 2021.
  • Mondays: Returns only 10 AM to 4 PM
  • Tuesday mornings: Returns only 10 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Tuesday afternoons: Checkouts only 1 PM to 4PM
  • Wednesday mornings: Returns only 10AM to 12:30 PM
  • Wednesday afternoons: Checkouts only 1 PM to 4 PM
  • Thursday mornings: Returns only 10 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Thursday afternoons: Checkouts only 1 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Fridays: Checkouts only 10 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Saturdays & Sundays: Closed

LENGTH OF CHECKOUTS

  • For orders picked up Thursday afternoon, they must be returned at some point during the day the following Monday
  • For orders picked up on a Friday, they must be returned at some point the following Monday or the following Tuesday morning.
  • Mid-week reservations picked up Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon must be returned Wednesday or Thursday morning respectively. These mid-week reservations are meant to accommodate smaller projects and/or pickups as well as alleviate equipment strain/conflicts on larger demand weekends.

 

SPACED OUT RESERVATIONS (CHECKOUTS/RETURNS)

In order to safely spread-out checkouts and reduce wait times, a limited number of reservations will be allowed to be picked up or returned every 15 minutes. This semester, when booking your reservation via the Patron Portal, only available pickup or return times will be shown. If the max number of checkouts for a given time period has been reached already, that time will not show as an option, simply pick the one closest which is available. This should help patrons quickly find available times for their reservations. Due to this deliberate spacing of reservations, it is critical that patrons arrive at their scheduled times for both checkouts and returns. Early and/or late returns will no longer be accepted. Given scheduling demands, items must be returned AT the scheduled return time. Please book reservations accordingly.

 

NO WALK-INS

In order to adhere to health and safety guidelines, there will also be NO WALK-INS during the Fall of 2021. The only exception will be for headphones.
