Faculty, Staff and Campus Partners,

The Office of Access, Opportunity & Achievement (OAOA) is accepting applications for multiple STEM programs (CSTEP, CSTEM & LSAMP).  We are seeking your assistance in reaching a wide audience across campus. Please encourage students to apply who you believe would be a good fit or benefit from additional services in any of the below programs. You can refer a student by sending the information about our programs below or by submitting student names to dpolanco@ithaca.edu and we will reach out to them.

Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program (CSTEP):   

  • Who: historically underrepresented (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan native) or from low-income background groups from NYS who are pursuing professional licensure and/or careers in mathematics, science, engineering, technology and health-related STEM fields.   
  • What: CSTEP is a program that provides academic enrichment and research or internship experience in STEM content areas for eligible NYS residents.   
  • How to apply: You can email the application directly to jyao@ithaca.edu or drop it off at the Office of Access, Opportunity, and Achievement (PRW 072).

 Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CSTEM):    

  • Who: historically underrepresented (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan native) or from low-income background groups outside of NYS who are pursuing professional licensure and/or careers in mathematics, science, engineering, technology, and health-related STEM fields.   
  • What: CSTEM is a program that provides professional development and support services for eligible non-NYS residents pursuing STEM fields.   
  • How to apply: You can email the application directly to jyao@ithaca.edu or drop it off at the Office of Access, Opportunity, and Achievement (PRW 072).

Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP):    

  • Who: historically underrepresented (Native American, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino and Pacific Islander) groups who are pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM fields).   
  • What: LSAMP is a program designed to increase graduation rates in underrepresented populations in STEM disciplines as well as increase representation in the STEM workforce through faculty and peer mentorship, research opportunities, and a network of scholars from multiple institutions across Central New York.
