The Ithaca College Center for Counseling, Health and Wellness recently filled another key position opening, officially announcing Keiosha Mack as the new Operations Manager. Mack will fulfill the role of previous Operations Manager, Laura Keefe, who is set to retire following a distinguished 13-year career at Ithaca. Medical Director, Ellyn Sellers-Selin MD, chaired the search process for the position. Mack will officially start her new role on Monday, October 4.

“I am so thrilled that we are welcoming Keiosha for this extremely important role in our department,” Sellers-Selin said. “Keiosha’s broad background of experience, both in clinical care and medical operations management, as well as her commitment to improving the lives of others was keenly felt during the search process. We are so glad that we are able to bring Keiosha home to Ithaca and are excited for all she will accomplish in supporting the health and well-being of our students!”

Mack arrives to IC with nearly 20 years of experience in the medical field. Most recently, she has spent the past four-plus years working as a licensed nurse providing hands on care in a variety of capacities. Since February 2019, she has worked as a Dialysis Nurse at Mohawk Valley Health Services in Utica, New York. In this role, she provided direct individualized nursing care for numerous patients. Prior to that two-year stint, she served as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford, New York.

The largest portion of Mack’s professional career has been with the United States Army. From 2004 until 2016, she served as a Non-commissioned Officer in Charge of the Operating Room, providing first-line medical care for wounded soldiers, Department of Defense personnel, and contract civilians. Working as a key advisor for the Chief Nurse, she was in charge of all operation pertaining to the Operating Room and Forward Surgical Teams. Mack was integral to providing this acute care, playing a leadership role in developing strategies for procurement of equipment and supplies, proper storage and maintenance, and implementation of complex healthcare delivery systems. In this role, she managed and provided professional growth for a team of two non-commissioned officers, four junior enlisted soldiers and seven civilians.

Mack has also served in separate stints at Buffalo General Hospital (2014), AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta, New York (2011-2012), and a two-plus year stint at Cayuga Medical Center (2006-2008).

“I am very excited to be joining the Ithaca College community as the Operations Manager in the Center for Counseling, Health and Wellness,” Mack said. “I would like to thank the search committee for their time and welcoming presence. I am fortunate to be joining a strong and talented team and I am eager to get started. I look forward to supporting and advocating for our student population by ensuring our Health Center is operating with maximum efficiency and capability to best serve the needs of our students.”

Mack earned her Bachelors in Health and Human Services from SUNY Empire State College in 2014. She also holds an Occupational Certificate from BOCES Licensed Practical Nursing Program, which she completed in 2016. Most recently, she completed an Associates Degree in Nursing from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, this past May.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to my hometown,” Mack concluded. “My military career has taken me all over the world and I’m excited about finding comfort in familiar places and participating in my native community here in Ithaca.”
