On Saturday, October 16th, the College Media Association (CMA) named WICB-FM an Honorable Mention in its 2020-21 Four-Year Radio Station of the Year Pinnacle Awards competition. Ithaca college's student-run radio station was previously named one of five finalists for the award. The announcement was made during the ACP/CMA Fall National College Media Convention. The event was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sam Ives '21 served as WICB Station Manager during the 2020-2021 academic year.
This is the third time WICB has placed in the CMA Pinnacle Awards competition in the last four years. Last year, WICB won CMA's 2019-20 Station of the Year Pinnacle Award.
Per collegemedia.org, CMA's Pinnacle Awards honor the best college media organizations and individual work. The contest is open to student work produced for any college media organization, including print, broadcast and online outlets, during an academic year.
