Writing Center Appointments Are Zoom Optional

By Priya Sirohi, November 2, 2021

ALL Writing Center appointments can be held on Zoom

The Writing Center would like to remind faculty, staff, and students about our new policy for online appointments.

  • We have a dedicated online-only peer tutor as well as an online-only faculty tutor.
  • All in-person appointments can be turned into Zoom appointments. Simply email your tutor requesting the switch to Zoom and they will send you their link.
  • If you do NOT email your tutor, we assume you are coming to Smiddy 107 for an in-person appointment.

Masks are required covering BOTH your nose and mouth. We also request that you maintain safety in other ways; Refrain from handshakes, for example. Try to print your document with two copies so you both can see your draft while also keeping a safe distance, instead of both of you leaning into your laptop, The Writing Center has a printer with computers (only for printing).

Also, if you are sick, please stay home and reschedule, or make your appointment a Zoom appointment. Respect the safety of our tutors as you consider your own health needs.
