It is with great sadness that we share news of the loss of Fred Madden, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Literatures in English, who passed away in December after a two-year battle with cancer. A beloved colleague, Fred taught in the department for 27 years; he was renowned as a wonderful teacher and cutting-edge scholar whose work bridged the literary and visual arts. After his retirement from Ithaca College, Fred maintained vibrant interests in music and photography. He is survived by his wife, Taf—a friend to many in the department—along with his daughters Tessa and Kate. You can find his full obituary here:
