The Ithaca College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the men’s and women’s basketball teams would like to invite all faculty and staff members to Saturday’s (February 19) doubleheader against Vassar College in Ben Light Gymnasium inside the Hill Center. The women’s game begins at 2 p.m. and the men’s contest follows at 4 p.m. Prior to the start of each game, the seniors from both teams will be honored for their hard work and dedication to the basketball programs over the past four seasons.
Not only will Saturday mark senior day, but the contests against Vassar hold playoff implications for the upcoming Liberty League Championship.
The women, who are 19-3 on the season and have won 14 straight games, are currently second in the league standings behind Vassar. A win for the Bombers will grant IC hosting rights for the postseason tournament.
The IC men are 14-8 and are third in the standings behind Vassar and RPI. IC could move up to the No. 2 seed following this weekend with wins over Bard and Vassar, which would earn the Bombers a bye in the opening round.
On Saturday:
- DJ Washburn will once again return to South Hill to provide entertainment throughout the afternoon.
- Faculty/staff and their families will receive free giveaways (bracelets, sunglasses, lanyards).
- Free raffle drawing for a gameday blanket (drawn during the 3rd quarter of each game).
Ithaca College COVID guidelines remain in effect for our home basketball games. All spectators, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask at all times while inside Ben Light Gymnasium and the Hill Center.
