College Officials Monitoring Winter Storm

By News, February 24, 2022

Ithaca College officials are closely monitoring the winter storm that is expected to bring a mix of precipitation, including snow and ice, to the Ithaca area beginning late Thursday night and continuing into Friday. At this time, the college does not anticipate any formal change to its operating status. Any announcement of a change in the operating status will be made via the IC Alert Emergency Notification System (ENS), social media channels, the college’s website, and the Emergency Hotline (607-274-1495).

All members of the Ithaca College community are encouraged to use their best judgment in traveling safely and avoiding unnecessary risks. In accord with the college’s Inclement Weather policy, employees whose work requires them to be on campus will be expected to work their normal hours unless the college is officially closed.

However, there are times when the college is not officially closed, but when conditions make it appropriate for a supervisor to be flexible in allowing employees to depart from their normal schedules or to work remotely if their work allows. In these situations, employees are expected to have regular communication with their supervisor regarding their circumstances. Employees who miss time because of late arrival, early departure, or absence due to inclement weather or other special conditions may choose to make up the time, use personal or vacation time, or have a reduced paycheck if there are no accruals to use.
