Late Departure Request Form opens April 11th

By Catherine Wall, March 23, 2022

All campus residents, except for graduating seniors, Resident Assistants, and Circle Apartment residents, are required to vacate their rooms before 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022, unless they receive written approval to remain from the Office of Residential Life.

As you begin to plan for Commencement/Senior Week 2022, please keep in mind the following on-campus housing guidelines.

INDIVIDUAL STUDENT NEED: If an individual student needs to remain after the move out deadline, the student must submit a request for reasonable accommodation of their personal need (e.g., transportation). If more than one additional day is needed to accommodate a personal need, additional details will be required. Please note that the unavailability of housing at a non-Ithaca campus destination (e.g., off-campus sublet, summer internship/employment) is ineligible for Commencement Week approval.

COLLEGE RELATED NEEDS: If a student is required to remain on campus to fulfill on-campus student employment, academic, athletic or commencement-related responsibilities during Commencement Week (e.g., Commencement Eve Concert, Senior Week Volunteer, post-season competition), your supervisor, faculty, coach, and/or IC staff member associated with that reason must submit a request for the student to remain longer. They need your email, ID number and departure date to submit the form. Note: We recommend you submit a request for all your students without regard to whether they live on or off campus.

Beginning, Monday, April 11, 2022, you are able to request to stay for Commencement Week, using the Late Departure Request Form in IC Workflow.

MEALS DURING SENIOR WEEK: Graduating seniors who have meal plans, student workers and performers who are asked to stay through Commencement Weekend at the request of the Commencement Committee (Commencement Eve Concert staff and performers, School of Communication broadcast staff, Theatre Arts staff, Dining Services staff, Conference and Event Services staff, etc.) will be able to eat in the Campus Center Dining Hall when it is open.

Students in the above listed paragraph with a Spring 2022 meal plan will have their meal plans extended through Commencement. Commencement student workers and performers without Spring 2022 meal plans will need their sponsoring department to provide their names to Ithaca College Dining Services via e-mail by Friday, April 29, 2022.

Students staying through Commencement Weekend at the request of another department, not at the request of the Commencement Committee, will need the sponsoring department to provide meal passes.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The deadline to submit your LATE DEPARTURE REQUEST is 11:59 pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Requests made after this date may not be considered.
  • Only current campus residents are eligible to be housed on campus during Commencement week. Graduating seniors who are currently away from campus will be notified separately as to how to request on-campus housing.
  • Students who are fulfilling commencement-related responsibilities are expected to check out no later than 24 hours after their last shift.
  • Students who are participating in post-season athletic competition are expected to check out no later than 24 hours after their last competition.
  • Unapproved students who are found in a residence hall after the date and time at which they were expected to check out are subject to a $100.00 unauthorized presence fine and student conduct action.
  • SUMMER HOUSING:  A limited amount of on-campus housing is available for IC summer students, student employees, and students with exceptional needs; you register for housing through Conference and Event Services. Summer housing will be offered beginning at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022. For more information, see our summer housing webpage.
