Exploratory Program Peer Ambassador and Leader Recruitment

By Maria DiFrancesco, March 30, 2022

Are you a first-year exploratory student who wants to pay it forward? Did you love Exploring the Options? Do you want to connect with current explorers and help incoming students become part of the IC community? Then apply to become a Peer Ambassador and Leader (PAL)!

Peer Ambassadors and Leaders have two primary roles in the Exploratory Program. First, PALs connect with visiting prospective students so newcomers can learn more about what Exploratory offers and what exploring means at IC. Second, PALs work closely with faculty members who teach (and students who take!) Exploring the Options. PALs help facilitate class discussions, give short presentations on exploratory class projects and events, and offer new students insights into college life.

To apply to become a PAL, please send a brief cover letter expressing your interest in this position as well as a 1-page resume to exploratory@ithaca.edu by FridayApril 1st. We will acknowledge receipt of your materials, and we will be in touch shortly thereafter to schedule a 20 minute interview.

Interested in applying but just not sure it would be a good fit for you? Come to our Informational Session on Wednesday, March 30th from 7-9 p.m. in Clark Lounge.  Current PALs will be available to talk with you about what they do and the perks of being a PAL. Pizza will be available for attendees, so please register on Engage ahead of time if at all possible.

If you have questions or would like to get more information before applying, e-mail exploratory@ithaca.edu.
