Therapeutic Recreation Students Present at NYSTRA Conference

Students, majoring in Therapeutic Recreation presented at the New York State Therapeutic Recreation Association's conference March 27th, 2022 along with Clinical Assistant Professor, Catherine Gooch, CTRS in Saratoga Springs, NY.

 The title of the presentation was, "Leisure among contemporary Christian, Muslim, and Jewish minority groups in the United States."  Students performed personal interviews, researched literature, and shared their personal experiences.  The presentation was an assignment from Ms.  Gooch's Advancement and Administration of Therapeutic Recreation course. 

The presentation was designed to integrate understanding and increase cultural competency and humility for CTRS's and to share the effects of religious doctrines on leisure behavior and attitudes of contemporary Christian, Muslim, and Jewish minority groups in the United States.

The presentation was well received and earned outstanding evaluations!  Congratulations to these students:  Khadija Musa, Itzel Alonso, Emily Zuckerman, Shoshana Cohen, Mia Camhi, and Telden Lopes-Lotufo.
