Ithaca Dining Services, the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and the Muslim Student Association are excited to announce our new partnership with Etimad Halal in conjunction with Star K's Kosher Korner. All students on campus, can join IC’s Jewish and Muslim students and enjoy certified Kosher and Halal food in Terrace Dining Hall and to-go locations across campus!
In addition to the Halal certification at the Kosher Korner dining station, IC Dining is also committed to the following:
- Purchasing Halal-certified chicken products for other areas: Terrace Dining Hall, Campus Center Dining Hall, Towers Marketplace, Ithaca Bakery, and Food Court. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts and thighs served in these locations are Halal
- Certain beef products, mainly to be used at Station No. 8 (Allergen-free station) will also be Halal
- Dining will begin to roll out signage identifying where Halal meats are being served on campus
- When a menu item is labeled as Halal in an Ithaca College dining hall, you will know that the dish meets the requirements of Islamic Law, and you can be confident that the item does not contain any of the following ingredients:
-- Non-Halal Meats
-- Balsamic/Wine Vinegar
-- Beer/Wine/Liquors
-- Gelatin
-- Deep-Fried Foods (shared oil w. non-Halal ingredients)
On Tuesday, April 5th, the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Muslim Student Association will host an Iftar Meal served in Muller Chapel at 7:30pm. Please register to confirm your attendance, enjoy a delicious meal and get to know each other! All food will be Halal certified through Etimad Halal and Kosher Korner.
