National Student Employment Week is the week of April 11th, and IC Student Employment would like to take this time to recognize the participation of student employees in the day-to-day operations of the College. Organized by the National Student Employment Association (NSEA), this week underscores the impact of student employees and student supervisors on college campuses nationally. The purpose of this week is threefold—to promote student employment at Ithaca College, to recognize the contribution of student employees at IC and within the Ithaca community, and to recognize the work of student supervisors, who play a vital role in providing student employees with learning and mentorship opportunities during their time at the College.
In recognition of this important week, Student Employment in the Office of Human Resources has planned a student recognition event on April 14 from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM in the Emerson Suites. Refreshments will be provided. Please encourage your student employees to stop by.
As in recent years, we are asking for your help. We are collecting images and gratitude messages to compile into a presentation that will play in the background of the event. Please submit photos, video recognition messages, and gratitude messages to hrstudent@ithaca.edu by April 8, and we will be sure to include them in this year’s Powerpoint. After the event, the Powerpoint will stream on the Student Employment website.
Additionally, we encourage you to plan recognition activities and initiatives in your own department. On our website, we provide several suggestions for your department’s participation in National Student Employment Week: including student awards, thank you cards, events, and opportunities for feedback and networking. We hope you will join us in recognizing the invaluable service of student employees at IC during this year, and we thank you for your mentorship and constant championing of the students within your departments.
