Volunteer Proctors needed to administer tests during finals week

Hello dear IC faculty and staff!

SAS is looking for individuals willing to volunteer as proctors, exam readers, and possibly scribes for finals week (5/10-5/13). The SAS testing blocks are as follows:

  • 7:15am-10:45am
  • 10:15am-1:45pm
  • 1:15pm-4:45pm
  • 4:15pm-7:45pm
  • 5:45pm-9:15pm

For a better idea of the expected responsibilities of our volunteers, please refer to the following:

  • Proctors: monitor students, administer tests, clarify exam questions, deliver completed exams to SAS testing center
  • Readers: Clearly read out exam instructions, questions, and answers for students requiring auditory presentation of material
  • Scribes: Copy down (by hand) student work exactly as they describe. This is typically for students with a motor issue and is not as common as the former roles described

If you are willing to take on one of these roles for a few hours, please input your availability in the doodle poll linked here. If you would like to be considered for some roles and not others, please email tests@ithaca.edu to alert us of your preference. If SAS determines that your schedule aligns with our testing needs, we will contact you closer to finals week to alert you of any proctoring times you’ve been assigned.

Your time and energy are invaluable to SAS, the students we serve, and their instructors. Thank you so much for everything you provide to the Ithaca College community.

With gratitude,

Testing Center and SAS staff
