"Geographies of Narrative" will teach students how to use visual aids to tease out revision opportunities and develop rewrite plans for works in progress. To model this work, Palma will share strategies that he's developed to map empathy, magnitude, world systems, and drives in fiction. This course builds on Palma's research in creative writing studies, particularly in the area spatializing narrative, and more specifically, on his pedagogical presentations at the Association of Writing & Writing Programs (AWP) and the Great Internal Creative Writing Conference in London.
