This semester, we were thrilled to welcome two new part-time faculty in business law who will continue teaching next year in the Legal Environment of Business as well as some upper level and graduate courses in business law.
Sarah Germonprez, B.A. (UT Austin), J.D. (University of Wisconsin). Before coming to Ithaca College as a lecturer for the Legal Environment of Business, Sarah worked in higher education at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, WI. She served as a supervising attorney for the law school’s unemployment appeals clinic guiding students as they represented those facing unemployment proceedings. In addition, Sarah practiced in a variety of areas of civil litigation for six years in Madison.
David Richards, B.A. (NYU), M.A. (Cornell), M.B.A. (SUNY Oswego), J.D. (NYU School of Law). Before attending graduate school, David’s management experience began in his home town of Los Angeles, where he advanced from Supervisor to Operations Manager, then General Manager of a mid-sized firm providing support services to 500+ law firms in the L.A. area. After earning an M.A. in literature at Cornell, David attended the NYU School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the NYU Journal of International Law & Politics and Advocacy Editor of the NYU Moot Court Board, and was awarded the Marden Medal upon winning the School’s annual moot court competition. He is contributing author to several employment-law treatises and was inducted into several honor societies including Beta Gamma Sigma. Before returning to Ithaca, where David teaches at several local colleges and provides management consulting, he was a corporate-litigation attorney for many years at the Manhattan office of a large national law firm.
