Bill Newlands, the CEO for Constellation Brands (NYSE: STZ) paid a visit to campus on Thursday, April 14th. Newlands presented to an assembled group of students, faculty, and staff in the School of Business. Bill opened by charting his path from the small town of Addison, NY, to leading one of the largest producers of beer, wine, and spirits in the country. Throughout his presentation, Newlands emphasized the importance of winning with the consumer, driving growth, and taking risks. Following Newlands, Constellation Brands investor relations specialist Joe Suarez spoke about the company's growth, profits, and projections, explained how STZ presents value to investors, and highlighted the company's plans to expand into the cannabis market. Newlands and Suarez fielded questions from students, touching on Constellation Brands' approach to corporate social responsibility and how the Covid-19 pandemic affected their bottom line.
