By Hormoz Movassaghi, April 29, 2022

It is with great pleasure that I am writing to share the good news that our colleague and Interim Dean, Alka Bramhandkar, has been awarded the highly prestigious and competitive Fulbright U.S. Scholar by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Program for the 2022-2023 academic year.

School of Business has a proud history in this area, as Alka joins the ranks of Narges Kasiri (Associate Professor of Management) and Scott Erickson (Dana Professor of Marketing) who were recognized in recent years with this distinction, spending their sabbatical leaves in Germany and Iceland, respectively.

When asked about this accomplishment, Alka said that she is “… thrilled to be offered this wonderful opportunity to work with the Facultad de Economía y Negocios at the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD), Santiago, Chile. I plan to develop and deliver a course in sustainable business management and collaborate with their AACSB initial accreditation team. UDD is a private university which was established in 1990 in the city of Concepción . Today it has 15,373 undergraduate students enrolled in two campuses, Santiago and Concepción. UDD- Santiago offers two MBA programs including one that runs only in the weekend. Their department of Economics and Business is governed by values that include “entrepreneurship, innovative attitude, global mindset, and link with the company.”

Congratulations, Alka and all the best!
