Need an INTERESTING interdisciplinary course that meets a requirement?

An interdisciplinary course appropriate for any major to explore the historical, political, economic, social, and cultural factors that drive inequalities in health and in the U.S. health care system.  Course participants will deepen their knowledge of health disparity and health inequality with respect to healthcare.  

Through the lens of developmental theory and intersectionality as frameworks for analysis, course participants will examine the path of health inequality, structural violence, and strategies for addressing the disparaging experiences of persons from vulnerable populations with respect to healthcare organizations and other human services establishments.  (ICC) - Diversity DV; Liberal Arts LA; Legal Studies Minor Courses LMEL; Legal Studies Concentration Courses LSCO

Course Announcement

The first two classes are in-person.  The remainder of the class will be remote with one or two anticipated in-person sessions as needed.

Course Prerequisites - Junior standing or sophomore who has taken a social science or HLTH courses at the 200-level. (F,S,Y). This interdisciplinary course has been designed for students with Junior standing or above.  Students who opt to take this course but have not met the prerequisite requirements understand that the course content and academic requirements will not be adjusted.
