Add/Drop: Your Schedule is Still Flexible!

By Kate Miller, August 23, 2022

Do you need to update your schedule?  Remember you have until August 28th (at 11:59pm Eastern) to add or drop semester and first-block courses!

But what about holds?  Or after add/drop?

What to do if you have a hold:

Holds can be on your account for a variety of reasons.  Here's some helpful information to get you on track to updating your schedule and ensuring you've gotten everything done for the fall semester:

  • Student Financial Services holds:
    • Different types of financial holds exist and impact different areas of your record:
      • If you have a financial hold, please contact Student Financial Services immediately:
  • Health Center holds:
    • If you have any outstanding requirements with the Health Center, you may have a hold on your account.
    • Contact the Health Center to resolve the hold:
  • If you need to DROP a course while you have a hold on your account, please contact the Office of the Registrar (registrar@ithaca.edu)
    • Include your Student ID and the CRN of the course you want to drop
    • The Office of the Registrar cannot add a course to your schedule when you have a hold on your account

What if I need to withdraw from a course after Add/Drop?

We have a withdraw form just for that reason!  Please only use the Withdraw from a Class form after add/drop, not before!

Do I need to do anything else?

YES!  Always confirm with your faculty advisor if you're making changes to your schedule.  Changes you make this semester could impact your graduation plan and your faculty advisor is the expert on your path to graduation at Ithaca College!

You can find your faculty advisor's information in your Degree Evaluation in DegreeWorks (apps.ithaca.edu).
