The Angela and William Haines Young Concert Artists Residency presents a concert with clarinetist Narek Arutyunian, and pianist Ying Li, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 8:15 p.m. in Hockett Family Recital Hall. Ying Li will perform music by QiGang Chen, and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite arranged for piano by Guido Agosti; Arutyunian will play music for solo clarinet by Béla Kovács; and together they will perform clarinet sonatas by Brahms and Poulenc.
The Haines family sponsors a residency in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance each semester featuring current or past winners of the Young Concert Artists competition, a nonprofit organization that discovers and launches the careers of exceptional musicians from all over the world.
The artists will also give a masterclass on Wednesday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. in Hockett Family Recital Hall. Concert and masterclass are both free and open to the public.
