Welcome back to campus IC students! We hope the opening weeks of the fall semester have gone well and we are so excited to have you back on South Hill! In case you missed it, the Center for IDEAS has moved its primary office suite to our new home just down hall on the third floor of Egbert Hall (the previous location of the Center for Student of Culture, Race and Ethnicity).
Coinciding with our exciting move, the Center for IDEAS is proud to be able to offer two additional programmatic space initiatives this year. For the 2022-23 academic year, the Center for IDEAS will pilot two exciting new spaces: a Sensory Room (Egbert Hall #340) and a Prayer/Meditation Space (Egbert Hall #341). Each of these spaces will be open during normal business hours 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To use either of these spaces, we encourage students to stop by our main reception area for directions and additional information. We also encourage students utilizing either space to share their feedback on how these spaces can be used to address student needs moving forward. Consider scanning the QR code located within each room to complete a Qualtrics Survey of their experience. Please note that both of these pilot spaces are designated for individual use and are not intended to be used for organized programs or group meetings. The IDEAS Student Lounge and African Latino Student (ALS) Lounge are the preferred spaces for group interaction.
The Center for IDEAS team is excited to broaden our initiatives this year to support our diverse Ithaca College population. We look forward to creating more inclusive spaces for students to be able to best bring their authentic selves to campus.
