Anonymous vs. non-anonymous administration of depression scales in elite athletes: A meta-analysis.

Chloe Michele Ouellet-Pizer ('21) & Maggie Nieto ('22) – Exercise and Sport Sciences Graduate Program  - Mental Performance concentration, Justine Vosloo (Exercise Science & Athletic Training), and Laura Kuo (Library) co-authored a meta-analysis with researchers from other institutions in the International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology. The paper examines whether there is a difference in prevalence of depression among elite athletes dependent upon the administration of anonymous or non-anonymous depressive tests. The research indicates nearly half of clinically depressed elite athletes go undetected when using non-anonymous screening.
