To the student community,
Applications for Student Governance Council’s Vice President of Campus Affairs and Vice President of Communications for the 2022-2023 academic year are available on Engage. The incoming Vice President of Campus Affairs and Vice President of Communications will be working alongside the current SGC Executive Board.
As stated in the SGC Constitution, the Vice President of Campus Affairs shall:
- The Vice President of Campus Affairs will review campus issues, policies, and events that affect the student body.
- The Vice President of Campus Affairs will work with the Residence Hall Association on issues, policies, and procedures concerning Residential Life.
- The Vice President of Campus Affairs will chair the Campus Affairs Committee.
- The Vice President of Campus Affairs will be permitted to select an assistant to
help fulfill the duties of the position. - The Vice President of Campus Affairs will meet with the Dean of Students at least
once per block. - The Vice President of Campus Affairs will meet with the Vice President of
Student Affairs and Campus Life at least once per block.
As stated in the SGC Constitution, the Vice President of Communications shall:
- The Vice President of Communications will be responsible for all public relations
- and advertising for Student Governance Council.
- The Vice President of Communications will oversee all campus outreach for Student Governance Council.
- The Vice President of Communications will preside over the Communications Committee.
- The Vice President of Communications will conduct at least one Student Governance Council outreach event per semester in collaboration with the Executive Board.
- The Vice President of Communications will be permitted to select an assistant to help fulfill the duties of the position.
- The Vice President of Communications will meet with the Chief Communications Officer, at least once per block.
Applications are due by 9/30/2022 at 11:59 PM. The SGC Executive Board will then contact applicants to schedule an interview. Following the interviews, the SGC Executive Board will meet to discuss applicants and put forth their top pick to the SGC Senate. Upon a two-thirds majority by the Senate, the applicant will assume the role of Vice President of Communications.
