Service Notice: Baker Walkway Elevator Currently Unavailable Due to Maintenance

By Dan DeCaria, October 20, 2022

Attention Ithaca College Campus Community,

The Ithaca College Office of Facilities regrets to inform our campus community that the Baker Walkway elevator is currently unavailable due to required maintenance. The college is working with its service contractor, Schindler Elevator, to expedite repairs to return the elevator to normal operating service as soon as possible.

We understand that this elevator is critical to providing convenient and accessible transportation from upper campus to the Whalen Center, Hill Center, Gannett Library, other locations on academic row, and residence halls. During this time, we ask that individuals who utilize the elevator please plan to allow additional time to reach their campus destinations using alternative routes. Individuals needing an accessible route bypassing Baker Walkway are encouraged to utilize the path that runs below Towers.

Students needing further support are encouraged to contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@ithaca.edu or by phone at 607-274-1005.

We will provide timely updates regarding the status of the Baker Walkway Elevator as repairs are completed. Thank you for your understanding as the college works to resume normal service.
