The COW is Coming!

Mark your calendars for January 30 – February 3 , 2023.

Starting to think about a summer internship? Preparing to graduate and getting ready to apply for jobs? Still not sure how to write a resumé? No matter where you are in your career journey, the COW is here to help you!

And how, exactly, can a COW help you achieve your career goals? Well, in this case, COW stands for Career Opportunities Week, a series of events that will include helpful workshops, networking opportunities, contests, a career and internship fair, and free swag!

It’s also a way to introduce our new name. That’s right. With the new year comes a new name for the office of Career Services. Starting January 3, we’ll be known as The Center for Career Exploration and Development, which better represents our focus on supporting current students and alumni.

The Career Opportunities Week will kick off with workshops and an open house from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30th that includes a resumé writing workshop, an info session on how to get the most out of the career fair, a best resumé contest, milk and Via’s cookies, and an opportunity to see our resource space and ask our team questions.

There will also be a Career and Internship Fair on Tuesday, January 31st from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Emerson Suites, with employers from around the region and across the country representing numerous career fields. An invite was sent yesterday to every student on campus in order to reserve your attendance and allow you to see the growing list of employers who will be attending, so be sure to save the date. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, build your network, and even interview for a career or summer internship!

The rest of the week will hold a variety of additional information sessions and alumni networking opportunities tailored towards the needs of our students in a way that each one of you will find something helpful. Most importantly, we look forward to meeting you wherever you are, and establishing opportunities for us to help you MOOOving forward.

No matter where you are in your career and life journey, you will find COW — and the Center for Career Exploration and Development — UDDERly helpful!!
