No Change in Ithaca College Operating Status

By News, December 15, 2022

With the winter storm currently impacting the region bringing lower-than-predicted snowfall amounts locally, Ithaca College remains open at this time and does not anticipate any formal change to its operating status.

College officials are continuing to monitor the progress of the storm, and if there is any change in operating status it will be announced via the IC Alert Emergency Notification System (ENS), social media channels, the college’s website, and the Emergency Hotline (607-274-1495).

All members of the Ithaca College community are encouraged to use their best judgment in traveling safely and avoiding unnecessary risks. In accord with college policies, employees whose work requires them to be on campus will be expected to work their normal hours unless the college is officially closed.

However, there are times when the college is not officially closed, but when conditions make it appropriate for a supervisor to be flexible in allowing employees to depart from their normal schedules or to work remotely if their work allows. In these situations, employees are expected to have regular communication with their supervisor regarding their circumstances.

Employees who miss time because of late arrival, early departure, or absence due to inclement weather or other special conditions are encouraged to work with their supervisors and may choose to make up the time or use personal or vacation time available to them.
