World University Games to Take Place in Lake Placid Starting January 12

The Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire World University Games are set to take place in Lake Placid, N.Y., from January 12 through January 22.

More than 1,500 university students from more than 600 universities in more than 50 countries are expected to take part in the 2023 Games, which feature 12 winter sports and 86 medal events.

The Winter World University Games began in 1960, and take place every two years. They were last held in the United States in 1972.
