Distinguished Visiting Writers Series - Spring 2023

The Department of Writing is delighted to announce the Spring 2023 Distinguished Visiting Writers Series, which kicks off on Wednesday, February 1 at 6:00 p.m. with a virtual reading from Anuradha Rajurkar, the award-winning author of American Betiya (Knopf) an ALA-YALSA Best Book of 2022 and on Cosmopolitan's list of 125 Best YA Books of All Time.

The series, which hosts 3 writers each semester—a fiction writer, a nonfiction writer, and a poet– to teach an advanced writing course and offer public readings, will be held both in person and virtually throughout the spring semester. In addition to Rajurkar, the Spring 2023 series will also welcome Sierra Leonean-American writer, educator, and researcher Yalie Saweda Kamara, and Porochista Khakpour, author of Brown Album: Essays on Exile and Identity (Vintage Books, 2020)
