The Office of Extended Studies and the Center for Student Success and Retention are proud to announce the fourth year of our IC Advantage program. This program helps prepare our entering first years for success at Ithaca College and provides them with a sense of belonging before they set foot on campus for the first time.
Our collective goal is to cultivate connection, encourage engagement, stimulate success, and establish and maintain a point of contact as our new cohort ready themselves for their life-changing leap in joining us as IC students.
We would love to have you involved!
IC Advantage will run during summer session two this year, which is July 10 through August 11, 2023. You can participate in teaching one of our Foundation courses in “College: Learning to Learn” or “Community: The People & Places of IC.” Descriptions of these courses are included in the “interest survey” linked below. You can also participate by designing and teaching one of our Deep Dive sections; these courses immerse the learners in a specific topic for summer session two. Examples of past Deep Dive courses can be found on our Deep Dive website.
To express your interest in teaching the 'College' and 'Community' seminars, you are asked to please submit a simple survey by Tuesday, Feb 22.
To express your interest in teaching a 'Deep Dive' topic, you are asked to please email Eric Machan Howd (ehowd@ithaca.edu) directly by Tuesday, Feb 22. Please include a brief description of your Deep Dive topic course idea. Write this description as if it were a course description that advertises the course.
