Seeking Nominations for the Student C.P. Snow Scholar Award, Due Feb. 17th

Dear Faculty,

After a short pause, the C. P. Snow Committee is thrilled to announce that its student scholar award is back. We're asking for your help. If you have worked with a junior or senior (with a minimum GPA of 3.0) who has demonstrated excellence in bridging the humanities and sciences, please nominate them for the C.P. Snow Scholar Award. You can use this Qualtrics poll to nominate the student by February 17th.

At the time of nomination, we only need the student's name, their email address, and a very brief rational for the nomination.

Background: The CP Snow Scholar Award recognizes one or two distinguished students who fulfill Charles Percy Snow’s vision of bridging the humanities and sciences in their academic and extracurricular activities. Award winners receive a $500 gift and are honored in the spring semester. (Please note, we're currently working to see if we will be able to host the speaker series this spring. Once we have more information, we will be sure to share).

After the Nomination Process: Nominated students will receive an email asking that they compile and submit an application. The application will consist of 2 letters of recommendation, the student's unofficial transcripts, and a 1000-word essay: How do you integrate the humanities with the sciences in your academics and extracurriculars? On the basis of the activities you described, why is the integration of the humanities and sciences valuable?

Thank you in advance! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Very Best,

Raul Palma
