Reminder that Duo's phone-call authentication method is being retired

By Jason Youngers, February 14, 2023

Duo’s phone-call authentication option will continue to be retired in phases as first announced on January 4th. The next group will see a change this Thursday.

If you rely on Duo’s phone-call authentication method, you will need to begin using the Duo Mobile app or a Duo hardware token. If you need an accommodation or do not have a smart phone, please open an IT Service Desk ticket using this link: Service - DUO Support Request (teamdynamix.com) or contact the Service Desk via the methods below. We will work with you to ensure that you have an alternative solution.

Phone-call authentication will continue to be retired in groups as follows:

  • Thursday, February 16th (originally planned for January 31st)
    • For everyone who has used some other Duo method in the past 30 days, whether also using phone-call authentication or not.
  • February 21st
    • For all accounts that have not authenticated with Duo at all in the past 30 days.
  • February 28th
    • For everyone else, including those who have been relying solely on phone-call authentication.
    • To avoid disruption, please begin using the Duo Mobile app or a Duo hardware token or reach out to the Service Desk for an accommodation well ahead of this date.
