WICB, Ithaca College's student-run radio station, was honored during the Broadcast Education Association's (BEA) annual Festival of Media Arts awards competition. The announcement was made during a virtual webinar on Wednesday, February 15th. During the presentation, BEA noted that the organization received and reviewed more than 1,650 student entries from participating schools around the world. All eligible student entries must have been produced between December 15, 2021 and December 15, 2022.
Jay Bradley '22 received the "Award of Excellence" in the Student News Competition's Radio Feature Reporting Category for his "Electric Vehicles for Earth Day" news package. The story aired during the April 3, 2022 episode of "Ithaca Now," WICB's weekly news magazine. Click here to listen to the full episode, including Jay's package. The story focuses on a Cornell University student group whose goal is to make the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the world. Jay was one of six students recognized in the category.
