Amanda Faherty (Psychology) Organizes and Presents in Convention Symposium

Amanda Faherty (Psychology) organized a symposium at the annual convention of the Eastern Psychological Association in Boston. The symposium was entitled “Exploring the Developmental Significance of Technology Use on Outcomes Across the Lifespan.”

Professor Faherty’s presentation was “The relationship between parental contact via technology, parental warmth, emerging adult well-being, and parental support.” Student co-authors on the talk included Paige Marshall, Sienna Fuller, Lindsey Solof, and Luis Perez.

Other participants were from Clark University and included Ben Wolff and Ana Marcelo, presenting “Understanding the development significance of aggressive television shows on preschooler’s aggressive behavior and the role of caregiver’s active participation in children’s presenting“; Hojin Han and Ana Marcelo, presenting “The prospective relations between children’s media use and features of pretend play; and Sagmi Park and Alena Esposito, presenting “After-school hours: Technology and homework time relate to academic performance.”
