Presentation on the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics (Dr. Luke Keller, Ithaca College)

Please join the Department of Physics and Astronomy for a presentation on the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics by Dr. Luke Keller on Tuesday, March 21 at 12:10 pm in CNS 206/208. Come learn about this year's prize-winning work on quantum entanglement. Pizza will be served!

Quantum Entanglement: The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics

Luke Keller (Ithaca College)

The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.” What are entangled photons? What are Bell inequalities and why is it OK to violate them? What is quantum information and quantum computing? We will discuss the answers to these questions and more. No prior familiarity with quantum physics is necessary!
