Meet This Year's CP Snow Lecture Series Speaker, John Gurche, Paleo Artist
John Gurche is a distinguished local artist who specializes in drawings, paintings, and sculptures of prehistoric life, with a particular focus on early humans. His work has been on display at the American Museum of Natural History, the Field Museum of Natural History, and the Smithsonian Institute. He also contributed illustrations for National Geographic and served as a consultant for Jurassic Park.
The C. P. Snow Lecture Series, the longest-running lecture series at the College, began in the School of Humanities and Sciences more than 50 years ago as a means of bridging the gap between the sciences and the humanities. The series was named after Sir Charles Percy Snow, a man who truly embodied the mission of the series for his work as an internationally renowned scientist, author, lecturer, and past member of the British cabinet.
