The President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is presented to an Ithaca College faculty member who exemplifies former President Collado’s vision of excellence in education. Such excellence is demonstrated through an inclusive approach to educational practices of teaching, research, and/or leadership. Sites of practice include the classroom, the campus, and the community, whether local or global. The President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is intended to support the professional development of the chosen faculty member to further enhance their capacity for equitable and inclusive leadership in all relevant academic and community areas. The $5,000 Award is made possible by the generous gift of Gloria Hobbs, Honorary Alumna & Trustee of Ithaca College.
Faculty at the Associate Professor rank or above, whether tenured or continuing contract, are eligible for the Award. Nominations may be made by any faculty member, and self-nominations are welcome. Letters of support are expected from Ithaca College colleagues and from colleagues external to the college. The recipient of the Award is expected to give a talk as part of the Provost’s Colloquium series.
Please see the Collado Award web page on the Faculty Hub for more information including the nomination form. Please submit the nomination form, the nominee’s CV, and the letters of support via the online form by noon on April 1, 2023, for full consideration.
