The Ithacan, Ithaca College’s award-winning student-run news organization, took first place in the Better College Newspaper competition at the New York Press Association’s Spring 2023 conference Saturday, finishing in a tie with The Impact from Mercy College.
The Ithacan also finished first in the General Excellence and Best Website categories.
Leila Marcillo-Gómez took first place and Rayahna Tryka finished in third place in the Photography category.
This marked the 21st straight year that The Ithacan was awarded the Best College Newspaper in New York state by NYPA.
