As required by the New York State Fire Code, Ithaca College Environmental Health and Safety personnel will be conducting fire evacuation exercises for academic buildings in the coming TWO WEEKS. As is always the case, you are required to exit a building in a safe and expedient manner any time the fire alarm system is activated, and then gather at the building’s established meeting spot.
If faculty are aware of a specific date or time that may be a conflict (major exam, critical lab, etc.) please advise our office and we will try to avoid the time. Requests or concerns should be directed to; csherman1@ithaca.edu
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask the EH&S staff conducting the drill. Your participation in these drills allows the campus community to remain code compliant, but more importantly, to practice procedures that are proven to save lives in emergencies.
