The Ithacan wins 14 Gold Circle Awards for Print News

Adds four for 2023 Gold Circle Awards for Digital Media

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association awarded The Ithacan with 18 Gold Circle Awards in the 2022 Print News and 2023 Digital Media programs in an announcement on April 7.

Among the awards, The Ithacan had five first-place finishes for video feature package, news writing, sports news, feature page design and single subject news or feature package (special section).

  • First Place, 2023 Gold Circle Award, Video Feature Package, "Baking with Via," Erika Perkins '22.
  • Second Place, 2023 Gold Circle Award, Podcast, "The Intersection," Frankie Walls '22.
  • Third Place, 2023 Gold Circle Award, Video News Package, "BIPOC Students Celebrate Community and Kick Back with Friends," Erika Perkins '22 and Xiaoyi Zhang '22.
