This interactive workshop will provide an overview of the grants process at IthacaCollege. It is designed to help you transform your research or project ideas into fundable grants. Topics include:
- Overview of Federal/State and private funding sources and opportunities
- Pre- and Post-award grant procedures at IC, including proposal and budget development, routing requirements, and fiscal management/compliance
- Preparing a concept paper or letter of inquiry—the first step in the process
- Information on searching for grant opportunities using database tools such as: Foundation Center, SPIN, Grant Advisor, etc.
- Information about helpful tools and links on the Sponsored Research website
- Personal reflections from Eric on his experience at securing externally funded grants
- Overview of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process from Pat, IRB Chair
- Information on the other Federal compliance committees: Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
- Plenty of opportunity for questions and feedback
