Deb Stone (IC ’04) began her career in animation at Walt Disney Animation Studios where she worked her way from Assistant to Supervisor of Talent Development. She had an opportunity to move back east to work for Blue Sky Studios as Director of Recruitment & Talent Development, where she led the expansion of school and industry relations, the recruitment team and the talent development programs. Deb, along with Hsiang Chin Moe and Mark Osborne, led the relaunch of the Women in Animation NYC Chapter in 2018 which became the 2nd largest chapter outside of Los Angeles. In 2020, she partnered with Dawn Yamazi to produce the book, Art of Change: In Support of Black Lives, in which they hoped to inspire and create change through art. Currently, as Director, Talent Recruitment at Illumination, Deb continues to connect people to opportunities, find new ways to bring talent forward and to innovate any process in the most efficient but humorous way.
