Patricia Zimmermann, Charles A. Dana Professor of Screen Studies and Director of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), presented on a special roundtable entitled "Bridging Approaches to Everyday Media Across Film, Video and Social Media" at the annual Society for Cinema and Media Studies Conference in Denver, Colorado April 12-15, 2023.

Her presentation discussed the five years of collaborative research, writing, curatorial, archival, and outreach processes and work to mount the national touring exhibition We Tell:  Fifty Years of Participatory Community Media, co-programmed with Louis Massiah from Scribe Media in Philadelphia.  She also elaborated on how she and Massiah created a large team across the disciplines of media history and historiography, social science communications, science and technology studies, archival practices, community activists, community media organizations, and practitioners to think through and develop the project.

The project features 41 separate media projects, 36 different community media production entities, and works from 19 states and Puerto Rico. It is getting ready to launch university library sales this summer.

We Tell is supported with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Ford Foundation, and the Independence Media Fund.
