The mission of the Office of Human Resources is clear: support IC in realizing its vision of becoming an employer of choice. But the method by which Human Resources does Human Resources has evolved over the last few years, because of COVID-19, new self-service technology, new staffing models, hybrid/remote workplaces, and more. As such, HR has committed to taking the pulse of campus faculty and staff to find out how we can best scale our services to meet the needs and expectations of our constituents.
We began this with the release of the HR Effectiveness Survey, a fifty-two (52) question survey about employee experience, workplace culture, and the effectiveness of HR communications, services, and programs, which was conducted in February of this year. The response was insightful and humbling, and we were very pleased that 45% of our staff and faculty responded to the survey.
We are excited to share the results of the survey in the HR Effectiveness Survey Report. As we have previously communicated, this is the beginning of our HR transformation plan. Within this report, we have shared survey data alongside our observations about the opportunities our team has identified since the survey closed. We are excited to use this data, as well as the insights from our feedback sessions, to begin efforts to build out the ICHR of the future.
There are two outputs of the HR Effectiveness Survey Report, a pdf text document with in-depth analysis of survey data, and a slide deck with high-level summary and data outputs.
The next phase of our transformation plan includes meeting with various groups across campus as well as those working remotely. We have scheduled open feedback sessions with faculty in the upcoming weeks and details about those sessions can be found here. Information about staff feedback sessions is forthcoming. We will continue to provide updates about our HR transformation throughout the remainder of 2023.
