On May 31st, 2023 Benjamin Costello ‘97, Executive Director of Constituent Engagement Strategy, presented on the creation of IC’s Student Success Dashboard at the Slate Summit conference -- a national gathering of higher education professionals who use the Slate CRM tool to achieve institutional goals in Admission, Student Success, and Advancement.
The Success Dashboard is a new tool for campus faculty and staff to aid in their student service and advising by providing them with a more holistic look at the student’s relationship with the institution – academically, and through the lens of campus life. The new offering is a collaboration of Constituent Engagement Strategy, the Center for Student Success and Retention, and Information Technology.
The presentation shared IC’s experiences including the process for determining the need for the dashboard and the design process used to convert those ideas into the product we use today. Hundreds of attendees from other schools were excited by the potential that Slate holds for their own student success efforts and were inspired by the collaboration and partnership that made the Success Dashboard possible – especially between Enrollment and Information Technology.
The Success Dashboard effort was also featured in Inside Higher Ed in April, 2023 in a story called “Student-Facing Dashboard Provides Clarity for Advisers”.
