Did you know that Ithaca College’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance has launched a Collaborative Piano Young Artist Apprentice Program? This professional apprenticeship program is designed as a one-year experience for recent graduates and is ideal for musicians who want to improve their collaborative piano skills and gain readiness for their next steps toward the profession of collaborative piano performance.

College graduates who completed an undergraduate degree in music (such as a Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts) and pianists who graduated in non-music bachelor’s degree programs are encouraged to apply. Apprentices will train for 10 months (two semesters) and receive individualized guidance from Ithaca College piano faculty.

Benefits of this non-credit program for apprentices include:

  • Accompanying practicum
  • Individualized lessons
  • Personalized professional development profile and plan
  • Mentoring by expert piano faculty

Apprentices may seek outside paid part-time employment (e.g., opera and theatre companies, orchestras, freelance work), if desired, while participating in the program.

For more information on this professional opportunity, visit our website at https://www.ithaca.edu/collaborative-piano-young-artist-apprentice-program. Interested parties must apply by July 31, 2023. Space is limited, so early application is encouraged. The Collaborative Piano Young Artist Apprentice Program will launch in late August 2023.
