Dear Ithaca College Community:
While race has not previously been a specific consideration for admission to Ithaca College, the Supreme Court’s ruling undoubtedly alters the legal landscape for race-conscious admission and poses challenges for institutions that seek to ensure the educational benefits that come with a diverse and inclusive student body.
Ithaca College has been and will remain committed to being an institution that is welcoming and inclusive in recruiting, admitting, and retaining a diverse student body. Providing an educational experience and fostering an environment that prepares our students for a diverse world is core to Ithaca College’s values, and we reaffirm our steadfast support for our BIPOC students.
Applicants are carefully considered on the basis of individual qualifications, both academic and nonacademic. No decision to deny admission will be based on age, disability, marital status, national origin, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or military status.
In solidarity,
La Jerne Terry Cornish
President
