Experience the Creative Fun and Physical Practice of Dance in the Fall Term

Looking for a creative outlet in the Fall Term? Consider DNCE 35100 (CRN 20407), a dance improvisation class meeting M/W 2:30-4:00pm in Dillingham, Studio 1.  Open to everyone, regardless of one's dance background or experience, from a new or beginning dancer to an advanced one. The improvisation class focuses primarily on solo work and develops into partnering as the term progresses. What is required is an openness to exploring the way your body moves. Techniques are introduced to increase comfort improvising and to understand the range of movement possibilities open to each of us. Studying dance is a great way to incorporate a physical practice in one's schedule, manage stress, and support one's creativity. This class aims to cultivate overall growth as a creative thinker and problem-solver, as well as a dancer.  The vocabulary is self-directed and self-created through an array of guided prompts, exercises, and units of study. The class seeks to support each student’s singular way of moving. Please reach out to Professor Gwirtzman with any questions.
