Canvas Workshops & Drop-In Support Hours for Faculty

Canvas Workshops

The Center for Instructional Design & Educational Technology (CIE) and the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) are co-sponsoring 16 Canvas workshops for faculty from August 15 - September 1. Our staff will guide faculty from the basics of Canvas to more intermediate-level applications and uses of Canvas and IT-supported educational technology tools. Each topic will be presented multiple times over the next 3 weeks. We hope you join us in person or on Zoom for any of these events.   • Build a minimalist course in Canvas (Basic level)
  • Importing/Reusing Course Content, Updating Calendar & Announcements (Basic level)
  • Canvas Assignments & Grading (Basic-Intermediate level)
  • Tech Tools Teaching Showcase (Basic level)
  • Canvas New Analytics: What Does the Data Mean? (Intermediate level)
  • Creating an Accessible Canvas Course (Basic-Intermediate level)

Drop-In Hours with the Education Technology Center - Job 102

The Ed Tech Center in Job 102 is hosting scheduled drop-in hours (every day from August 15 - September 1) for faculty who would like a 1:1 consultation with a member of the CIE team.  Staff can provide a basic tech check of your course, answer your ed tech questions, help you address hurdles in your course design, or explore various Canvas tools. We are here to help you have a successful start to the semester. All drop-in hours will be hosted in the Educational Technology Center - Job 102. Meet & Greet in the Educational Technology Center - Job 102

Faculty are invited to visit the Educational Technology Center - Job 102/103, meet the CIE team, tour our spaces, and have a light snack during our Open House event on Thursday, August 24 from 3:00-5:00 pm.

All faculty who join us from August 15-Septebmer 1 for a workshop, drop-in hours, or attend the meet & greet will be entered into a drawing for a gift card from the IC Campus Store.
